[Solved] OpenOffice selected JRE is defective
openoffice selected jre is defective error when using writer and trying to use the fax wizard.

Please read the Survival Guide for the forum. What distro exactly?
Make sure there is a Java version detected: Tools>Options>OOo>Java. Wait a while so OOo scans the system and it should list all the Java version available. Make sure there is one checked.

There is nothing listed under the java section. Do I need to install java from java.com? I'm loving Openoffice. #$%! Micro$oft!

Yes, you've have to install a Java version. Don't you have one provided with your distro? Else, you can use the latest available on the Sun web site.
