Please read the Survival Guide for the forum. What distro exactly?

Make sure there is a Java version detected: Tools>Options>OOo>Java. Wait a while so OOo scans the system and it should list all the Java version available. Make sure there is one checked.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

There is nothing listed under the java section. Do I need to install java from java.com? I'm loving Openoffice. #$%! Micro$oft!
I'll try to include a print screen.

Yes, you've have to install a Java version. Don't you have one provided with your distro? Else, you can use the latest available on the Sun web site.
