[Solved] No Minimize/Close/Maximize/title bar on 3.2.1

Hey all,

I have a problem with my OO writer application. When I start writer I get a window covering all the screen while I can't see the task bar at the bottom and I also can't see the Ubuntu top bar.
Then there is no minimize/maximize/close bar, there is even no title bar at all. In the first line there is the File menu on the very left. Only the small x on the top right. Usually on Ubuntu 10.04 and so it is with calc and base, this is what confuses me totally, the close bar is on top left.

I found that this seems to be a reappearing topic within this forum, yet I haven't been able to solve it so far.
Here http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... 16&t=34972
it was said to reinstall a new OO version. I did so according to http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... ?f=16&t=68
but still no minimize bar, no title bar in writer.

Is there somehow/somewhere a common problem solving topic for this issue?
I would be grateful for any help and advice because I'd rather not reinstall Ubuntu completely.

Hope some of you know about this.
Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum!

So you get the correct top bar with the other components but not with Writer, correct? For such issue, I would reset your OOo user profile. But during the welcome process, don't transfer your personal data (if you had 2.x), former configuration files might corrupt the new profile.

Please add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

Well, thank you for the welcome.

And also thank you for your answer. It really was that easy, resetting the user profile did it.

Grateful

Thanks, this also worked for my setup.
I'd had no title bar (on Calc) and the status bar was obscured by Windows taskbar
