Cannot start OpenOffice.org 3.2.1

Post by mistie710 »

I only really noticed this today. I was going to start a document in Writer when I got a crash message from the system shortly after trying to start up.

System configuration startup check disabled.

Now being an openSUSE user, I realise that there is something a little different about the way this works, but I ploughed on regardless. The first thing I tried, given that I've seen something like this happen before, was to rename my .ooo3 file and try again, but the same result occurred. A package refresh made no difference, nor did uninstalling and reinstalling the whole thing. I then uninstalled again and installed the vanilla version, but with the same result (see report below), though I found that I could run with no problems if I tried running under a different UID. This would, I thought, point to the profile but, as I already mentioned, I had already renamed that so I'm a little curious as to what else could be killing OOO that is user based.

For the record, running under KDE3.5.10 here. Have tried other applications but everything else appears normal. :knock:

Just thought I'd also mention that KDE4 doesn't appear to suffer at all, no matter which UID I use, including the affected one. And no, please don't say that I need to switch!
