None of openoffice program will open

None of openoffice program will open except printer addministration. Where can I find log files or some hints why this is the case? exsample soffice -writer does not return anything.
I'm runnung ubuntu 7.04 that is running on server farm with VM and I have NX remote connection to the server.

For troubleshooting such problems, I use strace.

Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit? If the latter, then you will have even more problems.
