I have some tool-bar commands without icons, so I have assigned icons to them. When I re-launch the software, the icon assignments have gone and I am left with text summaries of the commands.
I have an idea this might relate to system files over-writing my user settings but the former sticky about that at oooforum is no longer a sticky.
Does anyone know the reason for the problem and a fix? I have version 2.3.1 (Novell build).

Release candidate 1 of OpenOffice 2.4 is now available. This version includes some improvements to toolbar customisation, and may well solve your problem. Either upgrade now, or just wait a while for the final release.

I'll try the new version when the final is released. I doubt that this problem and another relating to styles will be fixed. They are new issues not present in the old version I was using until recently. If 2.4 does not fix these issues, I will revert to the old version.

Don't you want to try the official (Sun) 2.3.1 version?

I suppose the Sun build might be free of the problems I'm having. I'll wait for the pending release of 2.4.
