Fedora C8 Oo writer 2.3 fonts

Post by avanhook »

I have searched the documentation for information on how to add fonts to OpenOffice (ver2.3). All I can find is information about using the spadmin font button.. However, in my version (2.3.0-6.7.fc8), there is no font button.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

If you only need a single user to have access to the fonts, simply create a directory named ".fonts" in your home directory, and put the .ttf file somewhere under that. E.g. a font called "Athena" might be in the file "/home/ajax/.fonts/athena.ttf" for the user "ajax".

If you want all users on the system to have access to the font, you need to put the .ttf file in a system font directory, create a new site-wide font directory to hold additional fonts. I prefer the latter.

In either case, OOo should notice the font when it is started the next time after the font is in place.
