Calc, Impress start as full screen.

Post by corcaighman »

This is very annoying, writer starts normally in a window, the others start full screen. I cannot get them to change to windowed nor can I find any reference to this issue.

I've never seen this with any OOo release; I use Fedora Linux (Gnome).

Does the "Max/Un-Max" button in the window titlebar work?

If you Un-Max the window, then exit OOo, does it start up Max'ed again?

Try the above without the quickstarter. Any difference?

The title bars are missing(except for writer), otherwise I could most likely reduce the window sizes.

That sounds like your install is broken.

What Linux distribution and OOo version are you using?

Sorry, I'm stumped.

You could try running OOo while logged in as a different user--that would tell you if it's caused by some corrupted configuration.

I have a fix for this :-)

No need to disable the 3D desktop toys-

I had the same problem, it happened when I upgraded Beryl to Compiz Fusion and installed Open Office 2.3 on PCLINUXOS 2007

You need to go into Compiz settings manager and into the Workarounds Settings.
Enable Workarounds and within that disable Legacy Full Screen Support.

Enjoy!!

I am running Xubuntu 7.10 + compiz. I had the same problem described above, and changing the compiz setting worked for me. Thanks!

Ctrl+Shift+J toggles full screen mode when the toolbar button is unavaillable.
