Re: Support Claws-Mail as Thunderbird
Welcome to the Forums.
We are end users and few (if any) developers visit this site.
If you want to make a suggestion for an update, you can do so by contacting the developers.
Please note that, imo, it is unlikely that this support will be added as it appears to be similar to other requests for online mail service to be added.
Similar to Gmail, which has been suggested many times, and still hasn't been implemented.
Additionally there are few developers on the OpenOffice project. You might have better luck switching to LibreOffice and then making a request to their development team.

Re: Support Claws-Mail as Thunderbird
Then I would suspect that the problem is with claws.

Re: Support Claws-Mail as Thunderbird
There is discussion on setting up claws email with OpenOffice in this thread:

Also, a query to the claws author might help if you have difficulty.

Re: Support Claws-Mail as Thunderbird
I just installed claws-mail and tested this mail client with my current office suites on Ubuntu 18.4.
OpenOffice4.1.9 fails
LibreOffice 6.0 (ppa) fails
LibreOffice 7.1 works. LO applied the necessary adjustments to the shell script.
I copied the script over to OpenOffice and now OpenOffice is able to send attachments through claws.
This is the script under Apache license:
And as always, I recommend using LibreOffice anyway. Nevertheless I updated AOO bug #94346.
