[Solved] LO Freezing/Locking while opening doc in Nautilus

Post by dreamquartz »

Hi All,

I have not seen a thread on this one, so I am opening one.

Using LO, I was always able to just click on a file in Nautilus, to have it opened in LO when LO was already running.

With both the versions 6.3.4 and 6.4.0 for sure, it happens regularly that when clicking on a file, LO freezes and locks up. The banner will appear, the file appears to start to load and then the banner starts to flicker.
In most cases I can close the open files, and then sometimes the 'restore' pop-up appears. By cancelling the restore, I end up at least with the original file, with data loss.
When having a DataBase open, it is highly likely corrupted. As a result of this issue, I sync and Backup with a high frequency, which should not be necessary.

Looking in 'System Monitor' there are 2 'soffice.bin' files, of which one will come and go and nothing works anymore.
I have to use 'xkill', or 'System Monitor' to kill 'soffice.bin'.

Is there anything known about this issue?
Is it a bug?
Can something be done about it?

Purged LO and re-installed LO. That solved the problem.
