Using Layers causing slow save and crash
Have been running AOO for several years in Windws, few problems. Just started using layers, now even a small (300Kb) draw file takes >80 sec to save and as often as not crashes after 5 or 6 edits. Large files (5 MB) are still able to function smoothly. Ideas? Thanks...
Open Office 4.1.6 on Windows 10

Re: Using Layers causing slow save and crash
I just tried making a Draw file with two additional layers. I added several shapes and saved it a few times with no problems.
You could try resetting your user profile. Shutdown OpenOffice, open any folder and enter
%appdata%\openoffice\4
in the address bar near the top. Rename the folder user to user_old and restart OpenOffice. You should get the registrations screen.
Your flat refusal to upload an example document makes it hard to give advice beyond that.

Re: Using Layers causing slow save and crash
Are there some pixelgraphic pictures in the document?
Just a tip:
Make some copy of the document, and delete some contents from them. Then try to open the modified copies to see which content caused the slow operating.
