I have successfully installed Open Office on my PC and now want to do the same on an old notebook so I can easily work on documents via online storage. However, when I hit download on this, I inevitably get an error message saying the page is not secure and I can't get round it.
The notebook is running windows XP and I've tried using an old version of chrome (too worried about it not working to upgrade!) and trying explorer just gets a 'cannot connect to internet' message.
Any ideas for how I can get round this?

Re: page not secure
To clarify: the "page not secure" message comes when you try to access an online file using OpenOffice? Or is it when you try to download OpenOffice to install on your laptop?

Re: page not secure
Do you use the official download link (bottom right of this page for example)?

Re: Download page not secure
I have certainly been able to download and install OO on a Windows XP system, using the official download link.

Re: Download page not secure [solved]
I used the official download button on the apache webpage which worked fine for my PC> My husband thought it might be the browser settings and fiddled with those to no effect. we've since managed to get it onto my notebook via a memory stick and it seems to work fine, so although my problem isn't technically solved, we found a work around. Thanks for the input, guys.

Re: Download page not secure [solved]
The problem may well be the Browser you used on laptop. Internet Explorer is not well liked - it may silently change file types, for example, replacing .oxt files (OO extensions) with their generic file type .zip. Many users on Forum have moved away from it, to Firefox, Opera, or other browsers.
