Unistall problem

Post by bawldiggle »

Win-7 PRO 64-bit
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.3
Revouninstaller PRO
----------------------

I am using RevoUnistaller PRO to uninstall (installed) "Apache OpenOffice 4.1.3"
The [OpenOffice 4.1.3 Installation Wizard] in UNINSTALL mode, shows an alert msg that stops the uninstall process before Revouninstaller can continue with the uninstall. (see attached image)

Quickstarter before you continue. If you are using a multi-user system,
also make sure that no other user has OpenOffice 4.1.3 open
There are no open QuickStarter nor AOO applications open nor running
I am the only user

In Windows Task Manager I "Ended Tasks" for anything that looked like Appache/OpenOffice.
Ran Revouninstaller again and the same problem persists.
I have looked for an "unins.exe" (or anything like an uninstall.exe) but nothing obvious was found.

In Start -> Programs -> Open Office 4.1.3 -> apps.menu ... there is no Uninstall link
On the 'OpenOffice" UI there are no links to install/repair/remove dlg either.

To make matters even more interesting there are 2 installations of open office on my pc ... both v4.1.3
  1. C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice 4
    - is listed on Add-remove programs

    C:\Progs2\Apache-Office_x86 ... folder creation date 30-09-16
    - containing an MSI file
    - this installation is NOT listed on Add-remove programs
I wonder if the 2 installations are tripping over each other, in spite of neither running
ie, not listed on Windows Tasks Manager

I think I have 2 installed v4.1.3 (one EXE installed and the other MSI installed) ?

I would appreciate any help to remove/uninstall these 2 ancient versions, thank you :)

Look for a process called soffice in the task manager and kill that.
