How to use high contrast in LibreOffice?

Post by catbill »

I have set Windows 10 to operate with high contrast. This is great for my eyes. But how do I use high contrast with LibreOffice 6.2?

The Windows high contrast makes the Menu bar labels invisible. I found that the only way to make the Menu bar labels visible (rather than light gray on light gray) is to choose the Dark theme under Tools > Options> LiberOffice > Personalization.

However, the Dark theme makes charts solid black (with the exception of a bubble chart in which I can see the bubbles). When I click on various areas in a chart, the outlines of elements, such as labels, appear. However, the elements themselves are black on black.

What settings will enable me to use high contrast in LibreOffice?

I cross-posted this question but received no reply. https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question ... -contrast/

Thank you, Bill, and welcome to the forum.

Yes, using colored backgrounds by specifying them in application colors is helpful and I have been doing that.

However, I should have made my question a bit clearer. My question is really about the compatibility of LibreOffice with Windows high contrast. When Windows high contrast is on, certain elements of LibreOffice, such as Menu bars, are not readable. The only work-around I have found for this is to use the Dark theme. However, the Dark theme causes charts to be all black.

Any other thoughts?
