Hello,
I have been using OpenOffice for years, and never encountered any problems. But recently open office (writer & calc) keeps crashing after a couple of minutes, and sometimes refuses to save new documents. I use Writer a lot for my work, so these crashes are rather problematic.
When OO crashes I get a message of the type : OpenOffice has stopped working. Even after recovering the unsaved document I lose my last changes.
When it doesn't save a new document : I get to the window where I write the document name, but nothing happens when I click "save".

I have tried to reset the user profile, which works but only for half an hour, then it starts crashing again.

What else can I try ?

Start Windows in Safe Mode then run OpenOffice while Windows is in that mode. If OO run stable when Windows is in Safe Mode then problem is caused by a driver or program that runs in Windows normal mode.

Strangely OpenOffice isn't crashing today. But when it does again I will try starting windows in safe mode and update the results on this topic. Thank your for your suggestion.

That won't cure the problem, but it gives an indication of what may be wrong, so one knows where to look.
