I'm running 4.1.6 on a new HP all-in-one. Been working in a spreadsheet that has crashed ever few minutes. Tried checking for updates but I get server error messages. Suggestions?
Running Windows 10 version 1803 with KB4100347 update.
Spreadsheet keeps crashing, update check won't load

Welcome to the Forums.
There are known problems with the update checker getting error messages, however no one here has (to my knowledge) access to find and/or fix the problem.
As to your crashing, a common fix for that problem is to reset your Open Office User Profile, as described in [Tutorial]The Open Office User Profile
Additionally there have been problems with some Windows 10 updates, however those updates have, supposedly, been superseded by other updates that have the problem repaired.
If you have all of the latest updates, then you should be good from that aspect.
