Failure to open files
Beginning yesterday (11/29/2018) OpenOffice 4.1.5 failed to open some of my files, both spreadsheets and text files. When I chose the file from the document list, the "open" button grayed over and clicking on it was ineffective. Some files, mostly new ones, could be opened.

Welcome to the Forums.
Usually when OpenOffice stops acting as expected suddenly, it's due to a configuration error in the OpenOffice User Profile.
While you might be able to look through the profile to find the error, and correct it, it's easier (and faster) to just reset the profile.
