Installed the version 4.1.5 recently and it has been HELL.
It crashes ALL the time and even worse I lose all the information that meanwhile had put in. What a nightmare.
What happen with Open Office ?
Has Google or Windows 10 corrupted OO?
Is there a way to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance for assistance, if any.

Re: Crash - Crash- Crash (open office 4.1.5)
Recent reports suggest a Windows 10 upgrade may be responsible. Subsequent reports say that a later revision of this upgrade may have cured the problem.

Thanks for the reply. My windows version is up to date (just spent 45m to check it - I am a big amateur...)
So, is is possible that you explain me how can I solve this problem ... or is not possible? and OO is dead ?

Re: Crash - Crash- Crash (open office 4.1.5)
I have 2 computers one running Windows 10 Pro and another Windows 10 Home and both have all the recent updates installed. So far, I have not experienced any of the constant crashing that is being reported by some OpenOffice 4.1.5 users. It could be differences in hardware or it could be an issue with a particular document. On occasion I've had a document misbehave, and have been able to solve the problems by creating a new document and adding the data to it.
I don't recall seeing any recent reports of LibreOffice crashing so you might give it a try,

Re: Crash - Crash- Crash (OpenOffice 4.1.5)
Thanks David. I run a check on your suggestion and found that in "Apps and Features" (not Programme and Features) I have a KB4023057 from 9/3/2017. I have no clue what this is. In any case is neither a KB434390 (apparently a source for problems) or a KB4338819 (apparently the remedy for that problem).
What can you or anyone else suggest ? If recommended to change to KB4338819 from KB4023057 can you explain how to do it ? And which "model" to chose from https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.co ... =KB4338819 : delta or cumulative ?
- 2018-07 Delta Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819), Last Modified: 7/17/2018
- 2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819), Last Modified: 7/17/2018
Thanks

Is "KB434390" a typo? The update that is supposedly causing problems is "KB4343909", not "KB434390".eleuropean wrote:In any case is neither a KB434390 (apparently a source for problems) or a KB4338819 (apparently the remedy for that problem).

Re: Crash - Crash- Crash (OpenOffice 4.1.5)
That was my understanding from the link provided above in an answer. I re-read it again and you are right, also because it is a later version (august 2018)Bill wrote:Is "KB434390" a typo? So, my question is --> Shall I replace my actual KB version (KB4023057 from 2017) for this one (KB4343909 from august 2018) ? [And guess it should be cumulative, not delta]. Again, I have no idea what this piece of software is and does !
Thanks

Re: Crash - Crash- Crash (OpenOffice 4.1.5)
Sorry, I no longer use Windows 10 and have no idea how to fix it. If I had a problem with Windows 10, I'd go to a Windows 10 forum for advice.
