Hello All,
I just installed Windows 10 Pro on a fresh hard disk. I had OO running properly, but then after installing a bunch of other apps it stopped working. On startup I get the message:
"The application cannot be started. [context="bundled"] caught unexpected exception!"
I uninstalled, restarted windows, installed and still getting the same error. Is there a log file created somewhere that may lead me to more specific information on the error?
All replies welcome...

Open Office 4.1.3 on Windows 10 Pro
Re: Install of 4.1.3 'worked', but won't run
Start Windows in Safe Mode: if OO runs in that mode, then the problem is interference from some program that runs in Windows normal mode
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.15 on Xubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

I restarted Windows and ran it in Safe Mode. Same errorRoryOF wrote:Start Windows in Safe Mode: if OO runs in that mode, then the problem is interference from some program that runs in Windows normal mode
Any other suggestions?

The only thing I can think of, apart from systematically uninstalling the other applications you installed, is to rename your OO User Profile; this often cures peculiar happenings. Reinstallation does _NOT_ generate a new User Profile.

I uninstalled, restarted, and reinstalled with a simple profile name. No difference, same error message...RoryOF wrote:... is to rename your OO User Profile; this often cures peculiar happenings. Reinstallation does _NOT_ generate a new User Profile.

The profile is a set of directories and files that are generated when you do an installation.
If OpenOffice detects a valid profile, then it doesn't create a new one.
Did you rename or delete the profile so that a new one would be created?
There's no need to uninstall and reinstall to get a new profile, just start OpenOffice after your current profile has been renamed or deleted.
