Saving ODS in OpenOffice

Post by RonNiep »

Two days ago I changed anti-virus program from Kasperski to Windows Defender. Now I'm having trouble SAVING Open Office spreadsheets. The message is "Error Saving the Document xxxxx. General Input/output error while accessing file xxxxx.ods". I hit OK 3 times which takes me back to the unsaved spreadsheet. Text docs save correctly. Any suggestions?

Ask Microsoft. It's their fault.

What changed? Windows defender was used, hence it is a Microsoft problem.

Switch back to a working anti-virus product.
Better switch to a professional operating system (anything but Windows) if your income does not depend on any Windows-only software.

There's more to Windows Defender than antivirus. Check your settings in Windows Defender.

See if that helps: [Solved] Windows Defender Can't save on hard drive.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the edit button if your issue has been fixed.

You have to tell Windows Defender to allow AOO to write to your disk. Problem solved.

Showing that a problem has been solved helps others searching so, if your problem is now solved, please view your first post in this thread and click the Edit button (top right in the post) and add [Solved] in front of the subject.
