Hi,
I am on a new laptop. I tried to download and install OpenOffice a few days ago and, I think because my computer was also syncing my Dropbox, the installation hung near the end. I tried to install it again today but the installer says there is a partial installation already started. It asks me if I want to clean up the files associated with that installation, but clicking "Yes" does nothing (the dialog box reappears). Please help - I write for a living and the animations in the version of Microsoft Word that came with this computer are nauseating me.
Thank you.

and a suggested fix in the last post of that thread.

Thank you very much. But I have the same problem trying to download the package from Microsoft.

Re: Install failed partway, now cannot reinstall
Failure to download from Microsoft cannot be blamed on OpenOffice. You should ping and traceroute to the Microsoft site to be certain that you can reach it.
