Open Office 4.1.5 installation

Post by Bruce173ABN »

I have tried to install open office 4.1.5 four times and each time it goes through the motions as if it is being installed. Then when I restart my pc (using windows 10) and check it still shows Open Office 4.1.3, so apparently it is not installing. Has anyone else had this problem ? Have you found a solution ?
Please reply to if you have a solution. THANX

HI Bruce. I edited your post because no one will reply to your email address and to avoid spam. Any replies will be posted as part of this thread.

After the installation did you check the Windows Start Menu by clicking on Start--->Openoffice and see what is actually installed. A restart is not necessary after AOO is installed. Did you receive any error messages? Did you try uninstalling V4.1.3 first?

Hi Bruce, I have a brand new Asus laptop with no apps except Firefox. Apache thanks me for downloading 4.1.5 but no icon appears and I can't find it anywhere. Any ideas anyone ?

The downloaded app should be in the Downloads directory used by Firefox. Double click on the app and it will install.

Hi Rory, Thanks so much. It worked fine and I realised that I confuse downloading with setup so hadn't taken the second step. Great.
