[Solved] File Save Error

Post by laszloak »

I have been using OpenOffice for quite some time and on this Laptop for 2 years. I can not save or save as using any of the products (calc, writer, etc). It seems that there is a problem with the location to save the file, but no matter which folder I select I get an error. Opening a file, editing and doing a "save" I get the error : General input/output error while accessing c:\(my file location). When doing a "save as" I get : c:\(my file location) File not found check the file name and try again. The same happens when creating a new file. It does not matter which location I try to safe the file in. All worked well last week. It started tonight after editing a large spreadsheet that did a few autosaves before I attempted a real save.

At a guess you have had a Windows upgrade that installed or activated Windows Defender.

If you have Windows Defender activated, see this topic for a possible solution.
