Java Runtime Environment does't work on OpenOffice 4.1.5

Post by raony »

Last week, I upgraded the OpenOffice to version 4.1.5, but it didn't work with JRE. Every time I open the program, especially the Base, the message "OpenOffice requires a Java runtime enviroment (JRE) to perform this task. Please install the JRE and restart OpenOffice" appears. BUT I HAVE THE MOST RECENT VERSION OF JAVA INSTALED! I don't understand it. :ucrazy:

The Java's version is the 8 64x and OpenOffice's version is the 4.1.5 64x too. Why does not it work?

You need to use a 32 bit Java with OpenOffice even if you are running it on a 64 bit system. You can then point OpenOffice at that Java through the menu Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice -> Java
OpenOffice 4.1 on Windows 10 and Linux Mint
