Hey,
I downloaded AOO 4.1.5_Win_x86 from sourceforge.net today and tried to install it several times but it failed to complete the installation each time. This message
Extraction Fails

pops up twice while

Extracting Files

If I just ignore it and go on with installing it following error message appears:
OpenOffice Installation Wizard
Error 1311.Source file not found:
C:Users/Jörg/Desktop/OpenOffice 4.1.5 (en-GB) Installation files/openoffice1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I checked, the file exists and I have administrator rights, run as administrator doesn't do it either. So I don't get it :/
Could it be because I try to install a x86 .exe on a x64 system? Or maybe because of my Windows User Name Jörg??
Please help

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Several reports with no definite answer, see this query.

Not at all. There is no 64bit version for Windows and it works fine on 64bit systems. The only trick is that if you have to use the features needing Java, you need to install a 32bit java version; but you don't need that for the installation.joggl wrote:Could it be because I try to install a x86 .exe on a x64 system?
Ah, that is not a bad idea. There were troubles in the past when the Windows user name had special characters. It's worth trying with another user with standard characters.joggl wrote:Or maybe because of my Windows User Name Jörg??
