OpenOffice 4.1.5 does not automatically install

Post by lbr »

The new OpenOffice 4.1.5 installation file (Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.5_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe) does not open properly – it creates a desktop folder but does not automatically proceed from there.

Do you get any error message?

You should be able to open the installation folder and run the setup.exe program.

OpenOffice 4.1.5 would not automatically install on Windows 7 SP1 64Bit - it merely created the desktop folder, but OpenOffice 4.1.5 was able to be installed using the Setup file within the folder - there was no error message.

I tried on my Windows XP system. I downloaded the .exe file, double clicked it, and it unpacked and installed without further input from me. It took about five minutes in total.
