All files are suddenly read-only

When I opened a spreadsheet today, there was a message to say 'read-only' as the file was in use by another user, please consult the administrator. The same message appears on every spreadsheet or document I open. There are no other users on my laptop. What should I do. I am using OO 4 on Windows 10. Duncan Burwood
