Not responding
using openoffice 4.1.3 on windows 7. having trouble with both writer and calc when trying to save or sae as, it comes up with not responding and effectively shuts up the computer from doing any further work. have to close off not close down.

Start TaskManager and kill all "soffice" processes shown on TM's Processes tab (Details tab on Win10).
Note "soffice", with a leading "s".

... or reboot, which gets rid of them.
