[Solved] Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

I cannot create a database because a JRE is needed - Where do I download. I am using Windows 10 X64

You must download a 32 bit version and then in OpenOffice /Tools /Options /OpenOffice /Java, select that version when you have installed it. It can live alongside Java 64, which may already be on your computer.

If you're using OOo 3.3 as indicated by your signature, it won't recognize the version of Java on java.com and you should upgrade to AOO 4.x to use Java.

If you're using AOO 4.1.3 and still unable to use Java after installing the 32-bit JRE, then see:
