[Solved] Downloaded but not installed

I'm currently using version 4.1.2 and downloaded the new version while the older version was still running. the new version was downloaded but stopped by the setup wizard and told me to come back another time. what's my next step? the program is sitting on my computer but I can't find it by the programs only raw files.

What is your operating system, and did you download the new version via http://www.openoffice.org/download/ ?

Have you downloaded from the official web site? There is a link bottom right of the forum pages.
Make sure there is no security application that could interfere.

Thanks both for fast response. I'm using Windows 10. downloaded from official website. Only using Windows defense...forgot how it's called. for viruses.

Once downloaded can you describe the exact steps you took, and the exact text of any error messages you got?

You should have downloaded a file named something like Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.3_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe depending on the language you chose and whether you have 32 or 64 bit windows. Running that file will create an install directory on your desktop in which you will find the actual files needed to install AOO. Before you run setup in that directory, make sure you close OpenOffice and, if running, the quick starter.
