[Solved] OpenOffice documents changed to MS Word

I was happy using open office. Now, all my documents have changed to wword. I tried to change my default in settings but that is confusing. I don't want to use an app, I want to use a program. I cannot figure out how to get rid of microsoft wword and use open office. I want to change all my documents back to open office. I use windoes 10
What is really frustrating is that if I try to open an old open office document, it won't open, it fails. Then when I choose to open with, open office is not even an option. This makes me hate microsoft.
