Can't print OpenOffice documents on HP PSC 1410
Can't print OpenOffice documents on HP PSC 1410
I've been using OpenOffice for a few years, but a few weeks ago I couldn't print OO Writer documents. Printer prints email items & HP Solution Center test page OK. I've got a Toshiba C-50 laptop running Windows 10. I've uninstalled/reinstalled printer/driver. I've been copying/pasting documents I needed into emails to print them, but there must be an easier way. HELP! GK3fI

Do you get any sort of error message when trying to print from OO?
As an interim solution, export your document as PDF and use your PDF reader to print.

Printer runs paper through without printing, and no error messages. Exported/saved OO file to PDF, same story, ran paper through without printing. Likewise when trying to copy document.

Re: Can't print OpenOffice documents on HP PSC 1410
Then, I fear your PSC 1410 is sick or has damaged drivers. Go to HP site, download and install latest drivers for that printer. Then restart computer and see does it print and copy. If not, take it to the printer hospital, but it will probably be simpler and less expensive to buy a newer printer.
Edit: Before doing anything else, unplug your printer, count twenty slowly, then plug it in again. Now try a copy. If that works, try a print. |

After restoring files/folders/apps to earlier form, when I try to print OpenOffice documents I get "Save print output as" menu, and can't print anything. I've printed test pages, so the printer works. What now, coach? GK3

When printing a PDF file, printer runs sheet of paper through without printing.

Have you checked for updated printer drivers for Windows 10 as suggested by RoryOF? Your reply to that suggestion said something about "restoring filesfolders/apps" which sounds like going back to an older driver instead of updating it.

Re: Can't print OpenOffice documents on HP PSC 1410
Recent posts on printing troubles with OpenOffice and Windows 10 suggest that a cure may be to reinstall the printer driver; inabilty to print from a PDF indicates the problem is not strictly OO related. I think you should definitely reinstall printer.

Did you search the forum before posting? I ask because just five posts below yours is [Solved] Cannot Print from AOO which was resolved when the correct driver was installed.
Alternatively search the forum with printer cannot.
If your problem is solved please view your first post in this thread and click the Edit button (top right in the post) and add [Solved] in front of the subject.
