[Solved] OpenOffice by default

Post by SHANNCON »

I am new to this forum and the question may have been asked many times.

I have previously used Microsoft Office on my desktop and copied files to an external hard drive.

How do I make OpenOffice the default to open all office related programmes on my new laptop? :?:

I have been trying the same thing but can never get precise instructions. The pesky computer always makes it microsoft word or excel even although my docs are in openoffce. The vital info seems always to be missing.
However I have stumbled on an answer . Double right click on your file, a drop-down menu then gives you the option "open with" . Select openoffice and bingo. Any document in word will open with openoffice.
