Interrupted download of AOO4
Interrupted download of AOO4
I found this link, but I think something still needs to be done to remove the root cause.

I tried downloading AOO4 through Chrome on my VAIO Flip 13, W8.
I tried downloading three times with Chrome, but when I want to install, I get the NSIS error that the integrity check has failed.
I downloaded with IE10 and it tells me the download is interrupted.
I can click resume and I get 2kb extra.
Now AOO4 will install.
But why do the downloads get interrupted?
I did download from http://www.openoffice.org/download/

Re: Interrupted download of AOO4
If you have a good Internet connection this is almost certainly a browser problem. Try Firefox or Opera.

Re: Interrupted download of AOO4
Sorry to be a bit stubborn here, but I have the feeling it's a problem with the webservers.
I never noticed this kind of problem with Chrome before.
Judging from the following link, it can be caused by the webserver.

http://productforums.google.com/forum/# ... 5-false%5DI encountered this recently on a website I manage. Firefox would download the file without problems but chrome would always give XXX/0 B interrupted. It turns out the problem was the webserver was sending an incorrect Content-length header which was more bytes than the actual file. So chrome was thinking the file was not completely downloaded when the webserver stopped sending data so it assumed it was interrupted. Removing the content-length header solves this problem. I know chrome used to work to download these dynamically generated files but probably changed it's behavior during some update. I'm using 13.0.772.0 dev now.

Re: Interrupted download of AOO4
I have reported the matter and your link of a suggested cause to the Apache Developer mailing list, who may follow it up in due course.

Re: Interrupted download of AOO4
I have been asked if you could tell us the name of the file you were downloading, and which Sourceforge mirror it was being downloaded from?

Re: Interrupted download of AOO4
I went through the download history of Chrome and this is the location that gave an incomplete file for me:
http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/projec ... all_nl.exe
The file is: Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.1_Win_x86_install_nl.exe
Just to test I tried again.
This time the file downloaded without problems.
http://garr.dl.sourceforge.net/project/ ... all_nl.exe
I hope this helps.

Re: Interrupted download of AOO4
Just to make the test complete, I also tried the HEAnet mirror again, but this time the file downloaded completely.
I also checked in the IE10 history (where I had to click resume) and there the file was downloaded from Garr.
So perhaps something automagically changed last night?

Re: Interrupted download of AOO4
Just a remark: HEAnet is my local mirror for almost everything and I've never had any problems with it using IE6, Opera or Firefox. I've not used Chrome at all.
