Now Running Windows 8.0 & AOO 4.0.1

I keep getting invitations from MS to upgrade to 8.1. I always hesitate to do whatever MS suggests as it is usually followed by anguish and anger.

Is AOO compatible with Windows 8.1, or is it a roll of the dice?

Windows 8.0 was so horrible I'm certain 8.1 must be better. Reports are that OpenOffice 4.0.1 runs OK on it.

I had no problem with AOO on Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. I did experience some long boot times after upgrading, but that was fixed by a bios update. I'd recommend going to your computer maker's site and see if they recommend driver and bios updates before upgrading.

currently I am using windows 8.1.And I had no problem with the both.
But when booting to windows 8.1, You will surely notice many difference .
You will get pretty much option when you will login to the system.
I think booting will not be a problem and it is good if you try with windows 8.1.

I moved away from Windows (Win 2000, Win XP) to linux, and have never regretted the move. However, this is major step, particularly for the less computer-skilled.
