[Solved] Unable to open documents from folders

Post by gesumsion »

I've recently gone to Open Office 3.3 and cannot now open any documents from their folders. I get an error message saying they need elevation? If I open up the Open Office program I can then open the documents from the open file dialogue in the program . Any ideas ?

Following thomasjk's reply and a search enquiry I traced the problem to windows User account control, and by setting it at a lower level cured the problem

I had to turn my user account settings off entirely, but it did resolve the problem. No more elevation required message, the document just opens.

This may be the UAC. See: Can't open an OpenOffice.org document.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.
