Error report crashed

Post by Sned »

Hi, I had a 4000 word document on my laptop, which cut off whilst typing. I switched it back on & it said it failed to recover document, but this just disappears when I click next for the error report. The actual file is still there, but when I open it, the whole thing is coming up as ##############. Is there anyway to get this back, or is it gone? I didn't save it else where, and am in absolute bits, as I need this to complete my course. Any help would be great, Thanks.

Sorry your file is corrupt beyond help. You may want to turn on Tools-->Options--->Load/Save--->General---> "Always Create Backup Copy". Search for filename.bak just in case this was already turned on. The file is located in your user profile http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... 74&t=12426.

Hashes? Then the file is lost: see that thread: 22 pages term paper replaced with pound signs.
