[Solved] Arabic Language Packs for OO2.3.1?

OS: Win XP

I want to collect some OpenSource SW for friends in egypt. One package is open office. Looking at site http://download.openoffice.org/other.html#de, it is told, that only 2.0.2 is available.

Now I wonder, if it is not possible to use the official "English (US)" OO2.3.1 and just add a second language pack (arabic), that I found at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wik ... guagePacks

Since every inhabitant in egypt learns the english language in school, this could be a helpful approach, because it is possible to switch from english to arabic and viceversa, isn't it?

Any suggestions? Also from arabic people

Using the vanilla US version with a German language pack (and vice versa with an earlier version) I can confirm that it works as expected.
I can switching to naother GUI language, restart the office and get just the same thing as if I had installed another localized variant of OOo, including the help files.
All the documents, templates, spell checking and other stuff is not inluenced at all. You can use any document in any language with any GUI language.
