[Solved] Locked documents

OpenOffice is saving all my documents as locked files. How do I stop this and can I unlock those locked files?

What do you mean exactly? Are they saved read-only?

Files are not locked when saving. They are locked when opened and unlocked when saved closed. If you get a message that a file is locked when you try to open it, then the file was not properly closed the last time it was open.

The "-lock" files are not your document files. The -lock file will be created by the office suite when you open a document. And they will be deleted, when you close the document. The "lock" file shows "this file is opened by the office suite".

If the lock files are not deleted (they are remained on the storing device), that means: the office suite was not stopped regularly.
