Why is my file locked?

Post by waynec444 »

I closed the file normally after saving it (using the X).

I did NOT close OO.

When attempting to reopen the file it says it is locked by me. It will only alllow me to open a copy. Reading another post says this can happen when I improperly close OO but this is NOT the situation.

Can I just open the copy and then save it? Will this resolve the issue and be able to edit it when I again attempt to open it?

Thank you.

Yes, you have closed one instance of the OpenOffice, when you have closed a document.

Wait some seconds especially when you save the document onto a removable media - or try the LibreOffice.
