OpenOffice Support 110321 Java runtime environment installed, not working
Dear fellow Open Office Users, I have installed Java on my Windows 10 Laptop, for use with Open Office.
I get the following Error message when trying to use Open Office Database program "Use Wizard to Creat Form..."
1. "OpenOffice requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. Please install a JRE and restart OpenOffice."
2. "The connection to the data source "100321 BOAT US PURCHASE AGREEMENTdraft" could not be established.
No Java installation could be found. Please check your installation."
Thanks, JC

Re: Java runtime environment installed, not working
AOO requires 32 bit JRE, because the AOO is available only in 32 bit version."OpenOffice requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. Please install a JRE and restart OpenOffice."
The LibreOffice has 32 and 64 bit versions.

Re: Java runtime environment installed, not working
- What is the version number of the 32 bit Java what you installed?I installed the 32 bit version. Still not working.
- Do you installed a JRE or a JDK?
- Do you see the version number of the installed Java in the settings of the Office suite?
I have not JRE32 on my PC, therefore the Apache OpenOffice can not show any JRE version: I have two versions of older Oracle JRE on my PC: The LibreOffice can show them - but I do not use them:

Re: Java runtime environment installed, not working
I kept getting an error message "jre-8u311-windows-i586 error msg : jre-8u311-windows-i586.exe is not a valid Win32 application"
Because of this problem, I went to the Java website, and downloaded every Java that was Windows 32 bits. I tried each of them on my XP Desktop and finally found that jre-7u80-windows-i586 works on my XP.
