Why is OO only in Windows x86 form (32-bit)?

Post by WanhedaNC »

Ok, I held back as long as I can from asking this question because I'm sure it has already been asked ad nauseum but I'll be &(*%^$$ if I can figure out the correct search string to find those millions of posts today.

I see that OpenOffice is available for Linux and Mac in both architectures, but why is it only available for Windows in the x86 form? Thanks (as well as sorry) in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I think it is merely lack of developers.
LibreOffice has drawn most of the development effort and AOO is now way behind.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.

Because it is unnecessary and AOO works fine under all Windows editions in 32-bits mode.

See this issue and vote for it: https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=46594
