OXPS documents won't print

I save all my documents in .odt format. When I try to print them, I get a request to "Save Printer Output as" and the document doesn't print. Instructions from Google say to install XPS viewer. This doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Make sure you select your physical printer in the Print dialog; your description suggests you are using the Microsoft virtual XPS printer, which creates a file rather than printing on paper.
