[Solved] Pinning to taskbar

Post by dougp2 »

I've got the main OO screen pinned. I was wondering, is it possible to break out individual apps and pin them separately?
For instance, the word processing part(?) has an icon pinned and the spreadsheet part has its own icon pinned.
If it's been asked before point me to it?

Thanks.

Right click Writer on the Start Menu and check the options. The option to pin to the Taskbar should be there somewhere.

I'm unclear on this. I just started setting up WIN10 yesterday so some of the terminology is going to be a little off to me. Absolute noob on OO.

1. By start menu you mean the window icon in the extreme lower left of the screen? Or something else?
2. I do not see the word 'writer'. On the OO start screen there's a 'text document' icon. However this has no right-click function.

I suggest that you go to YouTube and search for "Windows 10 Start Menu". The Start Menu has been part of Windows for more than 20 years. It is not the AOO start screen.

Found it. After stumbling around I found I can (had to) scroll down to get to many more start menu selections. The disappearing scroll bar tripped me up.
Anyway, for future reference:

1. Open start menu
2. Scroll down to AOO 4.xx
3. Expand this to see the contained applications
4. Right-click your choice
5. Three options are now presented. Hover over 'more' to bring up a sub-menu.
6. Select 'pin to taskbar'

Thank you.
