[Solved] Windows 8 + error 1500

I downloaded the version 3.4.1 and it say preparing to install and hangs and hangs and hangs. I have to end task to clear it. I can't stop the installer module from doing its thing and it says I have another install running but I don't I looked. (the msiexe or whatever is there and wont disengage in taskmgr no matter what) I am trying to run setup.exe and its a no go.

Did you search for the error message? Microsoft Support has articles about this error message.

You would be surprised at how many people post here _without_ doing a search. If your search was so thorough, why did you not find, for example, this?

I had and my installer times out and still won't install it. but thank you it was a helpful link regardless of who found it.

what finally worked for me was I made a copy of the setup file 463 mb with no properties engaged and it worked. btw that is a feature in windows 8 it was on the top bar when I opened the folder. Also thank you to the persons who replied it was helpful if I hadn't done so their advice was great.
