[Solved] Changing Form to 'enter data'

Post by ShaneLevene »

Hey Everyone...

I just used the wizard to create a new form. I then spent quite a bit of time on the design. Unfortunately when I created the form I chose the option:

'The form is to show all data'

Infact I really needed 'the form is to be used to enter data'

Is there any way I can edit form to allow me to enter new data and not view present data. I don't much fancy scraping it and having to start again and redesign a new form from scratch.

All My Best, Shane

SOLVED

I've found the answer myself, so will type it up here for any members searching the same problem in future.

Open your form in edit mode.
In the left hand toolbar make sure 'form design' is selected. If this is selected options will appear in the bottom toolbar.
In the bottom toolbar click on 'form properties'
This will bring up a small window.
Hit the 'data' tab
scroll down to 'add data only'
select 'yes'
save.

Voila, the front page of your form no longer shows existing data. The fields are all blank and you can now enter data to your db.

Can I give myself some points? I want forum points!!!
