FreeHSQLDB-0.3.7.oxt and LO 7.2.0.4 issue

Post by dreamquartz »

@Master Villeroy,

Downloaded the latest LO 7.2.0.4 on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and it appears that the split database "script" file can NOT be selected any more.
I use copies of a split database for development, and that indicates changing the folder where to find the script file.
It appears to be a 'dead' button in the pop-up screen.

I also would like to be able to set the hsqldb.jar, and that appears to be a 'dead' button as well.

I use the 0.3.7 version for years, but am trying to move from LO 6-series to the LO 7-series, due to EOL.
The are ample of hickups and small issues, but nothing related to FreeHSQLDB-0.3.7.

Can you please investigate, and let us know?

FreeHSQL-0.3.7.oxt is found @ viewtopic.php?t=77543 for those who are interested.

Thanks in advance,

There is an issue with LO v7.2.0.4 in Base. The title is missing. This has affected creating split database with

viewtopic.php?f=83&t=61183

and may affect FreeHSQL also.

I can't reproduce the issue with FreeHSQLDB-0.3.7 and
Version: 7.2.0.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 614be4f5c67816389257027dc5e56c801a547089
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
Is the "dead button" greyed out (disabled) or is it enababled without doing anything? Both buttons, one labeled "1. Connect HSQL backend" and the other "2. Specify database driver hsqldb.jar", should pop up a file picker dialog.

Try to switch Tools>Options>LiberOffice>General: "Use LibreOffice dialogs"

Method getFiles from c.s.s.ui.dialogs.XFilePicker is deprecated and has been replaced with a new interface XFilePicker2 with method getSelectedFiles.
On module "Helpers", function pickFile replace

Code: Select all

	x = oPicker.getFiles()
with

Code: Select all

	x = oPicker.getSelectedFiles()
On my system it makes no difference.

Both button work and have Nautilus opened.
Can get to a specific file folder, but the selection of either .jar or .script by clicking on them is not doing anything, to be more specific.

Your suggested change in the code makes no difference.

Installed LO 7.1.6.2, after purging LO 7.2.0.4, leaving .config/Libreoffice.
Both without and with your suggested change, FreeHSQLDB-0.3.7 allows selection of either .script or .jar.

Apparently there is a change made form LO 7.1.6.2 to LO 7.2.0.4, causing this issue I have.

Reversing the process back to LO 7.2.0.4, the issue returned, so it must be LO 7.2.0.4.
Will return to LO 7.1.6.2, for now.
Hopefully other small nagging problems will not show up as well.

This makes the difference. It works with the native LO dialog.
The Gnome dialog has no OK button and double-clicking the file does not trigger anything.

Can confirm that both with and without your suggested change in 'Helpers' FreeHSQLDB-0.3.7 works, when changing to 'LibreOffice dialogs'.

However, personally, I do not prefer using the 'LibreOffice dialogs'.

What has changed between LO 7.1.6.2 and LO 7.2.0.4 to cause this?
You mention the Gnome dialog, but that has been the case for a long time. I have been using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS since it was released.....

Can someone please explain why it worked with Nautilus and Gnome under LO 7.1.6.2 and NOT under LO 7.2.0.4 any more for FreeHSQLDB-0.3.7?

@Villeroy,
I understand what you are saying, but we were already in the LO 7 series, and that means no major changes, is it not when they moved from LO 7.1 to LO 7.2?
