How to write math formulas - = ? V<>?

Other question - how to change the size of letters in formula and size frame around formula. The vector's sign disappeared : vec{v_{0}} = v_{0x}vec{i}+v_{0y}vec{j},

In the OO Math editor, try Format > Spacing > Category: Borders > Top/Bottom
I don't see the problem, even with no extra top/bottom space, so it could be a font or display problem on your end.
