Symbols not showing on writer
Several of my math symbols in the equations I am writing are not showing up on the writer doc. Particularly equal signs after the f(x) notation and + and - signs in polynomial expressions. How do I get them to show in the writer document?

Can you upload here a sample file?
It may be a problem with the fonts installed, what OS ? what OOo version? Please read the Survival Guide for the forum.

Sorry, I did read it, I just forgot to put the information. My OS is Vista and I have Open Office 2.4. It also did it with Open Office 2.3. I attached an sample for you to look at. Basically it is not showing any of the minus signs.

I see what you mean. Strange!
When I open the formula editor the display updates, and after that it's OK. It looks like some horizontal lines vanish. Could it be that you're using scaling/screen resolution that makes the line less than a pixel wide, so it vanishes, and that OOo uses that resolution for rendering? Try zooming in while editing a formula.
(I've heard that export to bitmap graphics uses screen resolution for output. That's what gave me this idea. Seems a little farfetched, though.)
BTW, you didn't save in Word doc format. The attachment has a ".doc" extension to the file name, but the content is still ODF.
