Hi, I have been googling for a while trying to figure out how to make a
|S>
symbol. Is there any way to do this in OpenOffice? Thanks for the help in advance

How to make a physics ket
OOo 2.4.X on Ubuntu 8.x
Re: How to make a physics ket
It would be nice to write it like this: lline "S" rangle, but that doesn't work because OOo Math requires the brackets to match.
This is the best I could come up with: left lline "S" right rangle

Oh, right! I forgot about using straight text.
Here's a comparison:

Given the awkwardness, it might be worthwhile if someone who knows and uses this notation could submit a request for enhancement, with a proposed syntax. I don't see anything about it on the issue tracker.
Something like bra S would display as <S|, ket S as |S> and bra S ket R as <S|R>.
Or, even just a relaxation of the pairing rules to allow lline to match rangle: lline S rangle. The bra-ket notation already works: langle S mline R rangle is ok.
I don't know if that's sufficient, or even possible; it's just a guess from skimming the Wikipedia page.
