[Solved] Tabs in Math editor

Using long and complex equations, I used to use tabs to format the text in the math editor, like a programmer formats his code.
In OOo 2.4 this worked fine, and a tab would be equivalent to 4 spaces or so. I've now installed OOo 3.0, and a tab in the math editor is halve a page.
Can I change the size of a tab in the math editor?

Tabs in the formula code still work correctly for me.

It seems I was too quick in posting my question here. After giving the computer 4 days of rest, all appears to be working as expected.
Presumably a reboot was sufficient.
